Also, I've found out why my local KFC is closed. Apparently, it's an issue across the country. Some new delivery provider caused the restaurants not to get chicken. Across the whole country, though? I don't know how that's possible. Anyway, I'm looking for stuff to eat. El Perro Negro. That's a bold name for a restaurant. I know what it means and I know the pronunciation but to a British person, where they say "jail-oh-pee-no" and "tack-oh"? No. They're going to think that it's an offensive name. I was thinking Chinese food. I never order hamburgers to be delivered. These delivery charges are ridiculous. £2.50 seems to be about average. It was always FREE in London. And these prices seem to be higher than when I first moved here. Probably because Just-eat charges a "service fee" now. They take a big chunk out of the restaurant's fees too. Maybe Japanese. I got some ramen in Edinburgh when I was out with my lady friend. It was served in the largest bowl I've ever seen. It was like a helmet. Eleven pounds for this shit. That's a lot of pounds. And £9 for fried rice. That's twice as much as I'd expect. I wouldn't even know what to get. I'll go back to Chinese places. Actually, I think I'd prefer taking a short walk. So I'll order from the local Pakistani place. Couple of curries, a samosa, and some spicy fritters. That should do it. All for under £20. I sometimes prefer picking up food to delivery. I don't like when the doorbell rings, for example. It's just a loud buzzer. And the door doesn't automatically open when I press the button so I have to go to the main door to let them in. It's all a bit of a panic. Also, I don't really like interacting with the delivery guys. It's not awful, you just say hello, pick up the food, hand over the cash, and say goodbye, but I prefer interractions at the actual shop. Anyway, I have to go pick this up now. |
