Anyway, I'm looking for stuff to eat. El Perro Negro. That's a bold name for a restaurant. I know what it means and I know the pronunciation but to a British person, where they say "jail-oh-pee-no" and "tack-oh"? No. They're going to think that it's an offensive name.
I was thinking Chinese food. I never order hamburgers to be delivered.
These delivery charges are ridiculous. £2.50 seems to be about average. It was always FREE in London. And these prices seem to be higher than when I first moved here. Probably because Just-eat charges a "service fee" now. They take a big chunk out of the restaurant's fees too.
Maybe Japanese. I got some ramen in Edinburgh when I was out with my lady friend. It was served in the largest bowl I've ever seen. It was like a helmet.
Eleven pounds for this shit. That's a lot of pounds. And £9 for fried rice. That's twice as much as I'd expect. I wouldn't even know what to get.
I'll go back to Chinese places.
Actually, I think I'd prefer taking a short walk. So I'll order from the local Pakistani place. Couple of curries, a samosa, and some spicy fritters. That should do it. All for under £20.
I sometimes prefer picking up food to delivery. I don't like when the doorbell rings, for example. It's just a loud buzzer. And the door doesn't automatically open when I press the button so I have to go to the main door to let them in. It's all a bit of a panic. Also, I don't really like interacting with the delivery guys. It's not awful, you just say hello, pick up the food, hand over the cash, and say goodbye, but I prefer interractions at the actual shop.
Anyway, I have to go pick this up now.
