How about Sending What Car a Selection of our Posts, so that they can See it from Our Side. ? Or even give them a view of the site, They Could even try to Drum up some business from this Large Audience. ? I Am not against Garages being approved, But I can't see an Approval scheme Preventing a customer getting Ripped off ( Who would decide what is a fair price or a rip off, That would be difficult in a Diagnostic situation or when working with Vehicles where something is seized up or breaks off and takes 4 hours instead of one, Who Decides what Work Needed doing, i.e when 5 parts have been fitted and the customer doesn't believe that they were all faulty, ? We all know that Main Dealers Fit one Part after another until the job is sorted and the end cost is irrelevant to them ) What are they going to do to garages that are Doing Shoddy Work. ? Will they have the powers to close them down. ? If So Some of the Main agents and other large Companies had better get ready, but then again, I think that the Big boy's will get away with anything and they will pick on the smaller garages to Punish, If the Jobs too expensive they will say that we should have used pattern parts, If the Job goes wrong then We should have used dealer Parts. ? I think that a Lot of Questions Need answering before anything like this is set up. If they want to price up some of my work they can have a go. (1) How Much does it cost to Find and Rectify a short on a Sidelamp circuit. ? (2) How much will it cost to repair Some Burnt wiring. ? (3) how much will it cost to get the Electric windows and Central locking working on a VW passat. ? (4) How much will it cost to Get a car through an Emission Test when it has failed miserably.? And how long will each job take. What would be a fair price or a Rip off. ? And If a Customer complained, what would be the procedure and when would they start to take any action. ? Or would they just take the Kite Mark away from them that they have just Paid £700. For. ?
