A prime example is the effect the Euro is having on countries subjected to it and don't even start me on the issues involved with entry of all and sundry in to the EU (Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania...Mars, Venus etc.) However, that is not providing an answer to this problem; we need a united front with well-presented arguments which are not too technical (initially at least). I regularly receive mailings from Christian Aid, who produce post cards on topical issues to send off to MPs etc. after filling in your name and address. Perhaps we need to do something similar. Yearly testing is our only lip-service to safety and the argument is not that vehicles are more reliable and safer than they were 30 years ago but that the roads are more crowded, cars are much faster, and they NEED to be much safer. If they want unity with the rest of the EU then the other countries ought to introduce yearly testing and fall in line with us (for a bl**d* change)...please, stop me now or I'll go on about this forever!!!! Regards, Steve ("Soap Box Steve" to my friends)
