I also think there is enough open forums without this adding to them but I wish good data was available for us. As an example, my mate has a KTM enduro motorbike, he has a full workshop manual and spares catalog supplied with it and all data/info needed is available. All parts are readily available at a reasonable cost and are usually correct because of the parts catalog. It is actually quite a pleasure to work on something you have never touched before but are not afraid to get involved in. This at first thoughts may sound like a worry for the dealers because they might not get the repair work, but KTM appear to be selling thousands more bikes than the competition due to their ethics. Car manufactures seem to be able to hold us to ransom for some reason, which I can only think of one main difference between cars and bikes which may effect this - Bikers talk to each other and usually buy from recommendations whereas car drivers just go out and buy what ever.
