    Hi Peter.

As I had my car serviced today, I thought you would be interested in what level of customer service I received as a punter.

Please be aware that I had my car serviced in a Renault Main Dealer as I have no choice, but after todays experience, I will be speaking to the lease company to get that changed.

    Car : Renault Espace 2.2dci 2003
    Service : 36,000
Distance travelled to Dealership : 20 miles

I arrived at the dealership and was not asked if there was anything else needing looking at, so I told them that the car needed new wiper blades, then my wife picked me up from the dealership as a courtesy car was not available and bearing in mind my wife and I travelled 20 miles to get there.. we then turned around and went home.

Knowing that the 36,000 service was a major service, I left them to it and I expected a call to say when it was ready..... no call... I called them at 5.00pm to be told it was ready. We then travelled back to the dealer (20 miles) to be told they didn't fit the wiper blades because they didn't stock them for that model.

He handed the key card over to me and said " thats it.. its a lease car... see you again!"

I asked him for the service check sheet.... Not done! I asked him about brake pad wear... didn't have a clue! So I checked my service book.... not stamped!

I then asked him how much they charged an hour.. to which he replied " Yours is a lease car Sir, so you don't have to pay it"

Am I expecting too much because I'm a lease car driver? Or do dealers think we don't care about the cars we drive? Or was it the fact I had a boot full of Diagnostic Equipment and they knew I was in the trade and didn't bother to offer good service?

Sorry.. but I have not had good service from a dealer yet.. so really I shouldn't have been surprised about todays experience! Oh... and they didn't bother to wash it either.. not that I expect my car cleaned for me, but its always a nice touch when it is.

Any UKAT Network Garage local to me who services fleet cars?

    Yours Disgruntled

    Andy A
