We fitted a new engine in a VW transporter last year. The policy was that after fitment the vehicle had to go to a local VW van center for an inspection and for the warranty card to be stamped and registered (one year unlimited mileage)Apparently this is standard.I remember being told that NO VW would not be liable for labour if it went bang.I ended up falling out (big time)with VW over this job, i was quoted for a complete unit and was told that it came with diesel pump, timing belt fitted and injectors.I asked them twice because the van belonged to a family member and i didn't want any dramas after quoting him. It turned up without the above.I was basically told "tuff" and dont forget to buy genuine bits to validate the warranty.
