The ECU pins are all lovely and clean.

So ECU has gone away for testing.
Hopefully will get reply back Wednesday.

I may have made a mistake thinking that the Engine ECU CAN BUS was producing a signal as I hadnt counted on the aircon ECU being connected as well.

I had a chat with an Audi mechanic and he told me to look in dada block 125 I think and check for can bus signal. You get a 1 or a 0.
had 0 for engine 1 for ABS 1 for HVAC.

So could have saved myself a lot of time.
