Fault code present P0340.

Vehicle has come to us from another garage with the above fault code. You can clear the code when the ignition is on but it will return as soon as you start it. Another sensor has been fitted by the other garage.

We have checked the belt timing which is ok, we can get a good scope pattern at the sensor and also back up at the ecu.

Has anyone had any ecu problems with this sort of vehicle before I send this one away for checking / repair
