If we were looking at a P0171 or P0172 then yes an emissions printout would be a wise move. However, the DTC is pointing us specifically toward a heater circuit fault, so surely it would be more efficient to go straight to the circuit in question & test it?
In this case I think it would be a waist of the customers money to waste time studying gas analyser printouts.
If this was a French motor then yes, chuck all logic out of the window, but a Ford is as straight forward as they come.
