thanks lee i dont know why i couldnt get live data unless the ecu is having problems i have found out that code p1216 is an imobiliser recognition problem but the engine ecu says ignor and erase but fails to erase if the coil pack dont sort it i will try under system id and also see if i can add a fault by disconnecting something like map sensor or engine temp sensor and check if the ecu sees it and clears it
i did check the map sensor to see if it had a 5v feed and it did so i presume the 5v circit within the ecu is ok. the only thing im concered about is the if the imobiliser isnt cutting off but i think if it dosent switch off you dont get comms with the ecu and its another system the snappy wont go into :-(
