thanks bryan and carl haven't heard anymore from the garage as to if the coil has sorted it will ring them tomorrow and find out i did check the ecu plugs for water/corosion and they looked ok.
how ever i still suspect the ecu as unable to look at live data and unable to carry out function tests snap-on software apps book lists codes data and function tests i just wish i could take a look at the immobilizer and see if thats ok.
finding it ever so frustrating to find only half the systems assessable with my verus i think more effort from snap on with software development would aid me in my ability to diagnose faults effectively
