The ECU will possibly shut down the injectors for any kind of misfire to save the CAT.
The ecu monitors misfires via crankshaft speed.
Can you scope power and ground to the coil also Ignition primary and especially current?
Maybe the ECU might also shut down the injectors in the event of a major ignition failure (shorted coil) I am NOT stating this as fact
Can you scope the crank sensor?
Even though you are getting a spark is it strong enough and at the right time?
If you suspect the ECU always check powers and grounds to the module before replacing it.
