Year of Manufacture *: 2004 Engine Size and Code *: AUQ ( Optional ) ECU Type: Bosch ( Optional ) Scanner Used: Launch
Goes out to car, engine running but no throttle operation, reads code for failed throttle control motor, checks motor operation, nothing doing, checks wiring and signals to Ecu with help of Elsawin, all good, so replaces throttle motor, now no motor codes but won't now run motor adaptions, gets to 2nd or 3rd stage and fails. Starts to suspect Ecu, sends for test and repair, gets phone call to say Ecu is beyond repair will have to port settings across into new Ecu, all this is done new recon Ecu is fitted, runs throttle motor adaptions and all is well. Starts engine to reveal engine running but no throttle operation, STILL !!! Now we have fault codes for throttle pedal sensors, both of them, codes will clear but come straight back. Using VAG-COM to clear the codes the fault goes away, with the ignition on, adaption of the throttle motor works, then operation of the throttle pedal also works the throttle motor as it should, so we start the engine thinking all is well to be back at square one again, checks wiring from Ecu to pedal, no continuity, so checks wiring on Elsawin to follow wiring to 10 pin Blue connector in compartment under wiper motor to find the wiring from pedal to connector block is wrong according to VW wiring diagram, but correct according to Skoda diagram, so move the connectors to fit the VW diagram and that too does not make any difference, beginning to wonder if I am in touch with reality still or perhaps Einstein was correct in saying its all a "Stubbornly Persistant Illusion. The fault codes for anyone interested are, 18039-Accelerator Pos Sensor G79 P1631 SIgnal too high 18042 Accelerator Pos Sensor G185 P1634 Signal too high Any thoughts would be welcome
