You re correct Lee in the fact that the OE wire is now safe, but the future concerns for me would be the fact that if the wire concerned has shorted to earth, then what is the condition of the other wires in the same part of the loom?

How long May it be before another wire shorts to earth via the same fault.

Just the way I think, I do also understand that customers do not have a bottomless pot of money.
