Renault Clio 1.2 16V D4F722 2006 - Non start, no comms with ECU - Fixed #

Engine Size and Code *: 1.2 16V D4F722
( Optional ) Scanner Used: DEC SS2

Hi,
Got this in as non runner and have transmitter key fault stored in body module. I also have no comms in engine ecu. No other module stores any ecu no comms codes.
If body module doesn't detect immobiliser will it shut Engine ecu down so no comms?
Anybody got a wiring diagram for this it has a bit of a mismatch Clio 3/2 system. It has a siemens sim32 system D4f722 engine code, but old type fuse box not module. all Clio 2 on autodata are marelli 5NR.

If it was a clio 2 ph 2 then I'd say get another key fob anyway as they are trouble at the beat of times but I haven't had much to do with Clio 3 models other than the routine service etc.

But as its a Renault wiring checks, relays and fuses are probably a suspect area.

Unfortunately I can't help with a wiring diagram.

Sorry should have been clearer. It is a late clio 2 ph2 with a clio3 ecu. Thanks kev will sign up to renault site monday.

Shane,

I tried to register with the renault infotec site but couldn't get my VAT number accepted so gave up. If you are successful please explain how to do it.

Check all engine related earths as I had one with a broken/corroded earth on gearbox which caused all manner of weird faults relating to no comms with engine ecu and immobiliser type faults.

As Lee has said earths wiring and fuses.
I had a Renault Espace recently from another mechanic who was struggling to fix a non starter.(was all but ready to either buy a new key + coding or even scrap the vehicle "year 2000")
The owner said he had stalled it at a junction and when trying to re-start it just turned over but wouldn't start, When plugged into diagnostic equipment every thing was pointing to an immobiliser fault but turned out to be a blown 70 amp Maxi fuse for either Aircon or dual charger as fuse description (can't remember which

). When replaced all was good again.
You can definitely watch time tick by on these jobs

Hi. I am going to stick my head above the parapet and leave myself open to ridicule. Have had two in the past year with same symptoms. Was told by a friend of mine (Renault mastertech) to put key in ign and turn to position 2 ( ign on) and leave on between 30 and60 seconds then turn key off then immediately start engine. Started first time. Please don't shoot the messenger

Hi,
I manged to sign up to Renault site and get wiring diagram, lee just leave vat number blank. I fitted new aerial to ign and no change. I have tried les trick but no joy. On Thursday I,m going to check all lives, earths.

Had similar on an 02 clio a couple of weeks ago,solid immobiliser lamp,no start, new key cured that one.Immo codes Â£16 from dealer.

I think if the immobiliser light stays on solid then its not a key issue but mroe a relay, fuse or wiring fault.

Hi all,
Tested all lives and earths and found ECU live missing, checked all relays and fuses and all good so i wired in an ignition feed relay to ECU.
All good now.
Easier and quicker then trying to find broken wire.
