I wasn't being difficult but hadn't really thought about it like that and should've as I've seen exactly what happens to a loom where wires melt together.
A good example was a Peugeot 306 rear wiper fault that was inop and kept blowing fuses.
My mate used my newly purchased fuse savers (which I haven't used since) which resulted in the wiring loom from front to rear melting together.
all the interior was stripped out so the loom could be assessed and repaired. The bluepoint fuse saver didn't seem to be much use and it was the correct fuse rating.
