We've had this car for a week now, trying to find an intermittent non start fault. Most of the time it starts and drives fine. Then occasionally, it won't start. Engine fires and stops like an immobiliser fault. On restart, the engine will try to fire but won't quite catch. Sometimes, if you keep cranking for a few seconds, it will fire up and run fine. No fault codes stored in engine or immobilser systems. Checked fuel pressure (3.5 bar when cranking) Checked spark voltages and coil current draw, injector pulse and duration, swapped coil pack, checked live data for possible CTS faults etc etc. I just can't put my finger on whats causing this. The only possible clue is that this fault may of appeared after the cam belt was changed, although the cam timing has been checked three times now. This car has just been sold by one of our car sales customers. The new owner in not ammused and is pressing for a refund. I'm getting it in the ear now to fix it.
