I don't wish to appear thick but what is a b.o.b?  I've checked the cam and crank sensor phasing using pico scope and I think its ok. If I can figure out how to do it, I'll post an image of it later. I'll double check power supplies, earths etc today. To answer some of the other posts - I'll check to see what fuel is recommended for this engine and yes its done 56000 miles. I have comression tested it after the cam belt was done. I can't remember the exact figures as it was a couple of weeks ago, but I think thay were around 220 psi, etc but No 2 cylinder which was down to around 180. I put this down to possible bore wash at the time as it hadn't started for a while and there was obviously a lot of unburnt fuel around.
