"I think it would be sad if we all started referring to the dealers as Stealers esp as some techs on here may be dealer techs in fact one of our most famous members was a ford dealer tech(sadly no longer in the trade) I cringe every time I read this "tongue in cheek" term. We certainly won't get any decent top dealer techs on here if we carry on like this which I think is a shame as good inside info is hard to come by."
This doesn't go for everyone, I know, but I worked for VW for four years and nobody there was interested in any more than they`re bank balance, let alone so called pride/love in the work we do.
"A lot of independents are no more than stealers for taking money off people for diagnosing faults when all they are doing is reading codes and fitting parts till they stumble on the fault. Without having a clue about the systems they are working with or how to test them."
Maybe I've misread your post but that for me sounds disrespectful!
