Mondeo 1.8 zetec V 1999 immobiliser - Starts when cold, drive a few miles, then non start Archived Message

Right then lads solve this and i`ll forever be in your debt. Unlock car from cold, jump in, starts no problem.Drive between 3-10 miles switch off and return to car within 2 mins starts fine, but return to car between 3 mins and 2 hours immobiliser kicks in i.e no starter no fuel pump.
Leave car for over 2 hours car starts. Been to dealer twice( with full tank of fuel ) to rectify, they have been through their diagnostic and reprogrammed keys etc and returned it both times with a shrug of the shoulders and an empty fuel tank!
This problem is intermittant and does have its days admittidly but when it does play up i have narrowed it down to problem near the fuse box area by giving the fuse box a slap(how i got to this point god only knows)car starts . All wires and connections have been checked half a dozen times.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Russell
