We have had a Mondeo with a problem with the wires rubbing on the strengthening bar, ( Ours caused the ignition light to flash on and off ). We removed the glovebox and with a bit of a struggle, we managed to unclip the wiring from the bar, insulate it and slide some plastic sleeving up the harness to stop it rubbing again. It´s awkward but easier than removing the whole dash.
