Fwiw I found a tweet from January where Jones concedes the right to armed resistance to Palestinians (how good of him...), though it's quietly done in a reply to his own post, and all his dutiful Hamas Condemnation fails to mention that the majority of the Oct 7th operation could be justified under that legal framework:

To be accurate, that means armed resistance is legal. That armed resistance still has to abide by the laws which govern warfare, which, for example prohibit attacks on civilians'
