Dovetailjoint, Do you agree that many businesses in the UK have used Brexit as an excuse - although our Japanese peers are more astute business persons that your average UK CEO - that fact remains Brexit has caused economic uncertainty, however, the fact also remains that we have a global slowdown and changes in the demand for SUV's, with many manufacturers pushing hybrids as Diesel goes out of fashion - see SUV sales in Asia and the EU and then comment, but its not a rosy picture and Brexit has certainly muddied the waters for Nissan, but not all Nissan's woes are Brexit related. The fact remains the UK has an economy reliant on financial services, the easy flow of capital and rent extraction - we used to actually manufacture our own vehicles and export these and our supply chains were very much within the UK - this ain't so today, something to do with neoliberalism, of which modern Globalisation is the greatest exponent. Brexit is not an existential threat, climate change is and Brexit I'm afraid is a distraction - I'm not even confident we'll have Brexit, especially if A50 is extended this month!
