Why isn't there a UK version of Jimmy Dore? Why are UK comedians so unpolitical? Whatever happened to satire in the UK? When I was a child I used to watch a show called 'That Was the Week That Was.' There's nothing like that today. What happened? It's like there's been a big cultural change in the UK, a shift over the last few decades towards conformity and discipline. I think this is because things are so bad now, the leadership on the left and right, so hopelessly devoid of any ideas, so dangerously out of touch with reality, that nowdays ridiculing them and undermining them, is dangerous, becausde their position is so precarious in the first place. The room allowed for humour and satire is narrowing and even the space normally allowed, the license given to the 'fool' at court no longer exists.
