I was just honestly trying to understand what you thought was the difference between corporate capitalism and capitalism - i've heard the dichotomy from various places but i find it a puzzling distinction, and have suspected it's bit of a cop out before now - trying to separate some idea of true capitalism from its current negative consequences like eg the war machine coporate state control and imperialism. Granted, this mild 'no true scotsman' can also be argued against socialists disavowing stalinism, but as i said, i think with a less justification.
I agree simplistic good and bad arguments don't suffice to talk about the existing staggeringly complex system that we call capitalism and/or the many ideas that make up socialism, some of which interweave with current capitalism (but not enough to stop it being capitalism). Sometimes we've just got to use shorthands though, so i don't say all that if someone asks what my politics are (i answer anarchist or socialist depending on who asks)
I disagre with your inherent linking of socialism and the state - the end goal of much of socialism is to take over and eventually remove the state, though there are differing arguments on how to achieve that.
