Ringo is, of course, a drummer. And nasty people often say he wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles! Lots of people like him think the same way. It's not his fault, given his working class background in Liverpool. For him and his generation, looking West was the dream, their Camelot across the great western ocean. The USA, where all the cool stuff came from, where all the promise was. And for Ringo it all came true, like in a fairytale. Europe, was, in many ways, really, really, foreign and a potential threat. It's a shame though, that he doesn't seem to appreciate and remember that the Beatles only really became the Beatles when they spent months in Hamburg Germany meeting lots of cool Europeans.
