Ho-ly f*ck. And I thought the Guardian was bad. I think that was about the the most revolting display of journalistic malpractice, moral cowardice and intellectual bankruptcy I have ever witnessed in my life. Julian's elderly father stands out in stark contrast to the brainless, soulless little Eichmanns interviewing him and establishment toe-rag extraordinaire Quentin Letts as the only human being in the room, certainly the only one with dignity, honesty, intelligence and integrity. It was so moving to hear his descriptions of what his son has gone through and quietly correct the state-approved lies of the ITV media actors posing as journalists, Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid. As to that nobody among nobodies, deep-state useful imbecile, Quentin Letts, his rhetorical sieg heil has to be heard/read to be believed, keeping in mind he says all this in front of Julian's father: QL: On a human level, my heart goes out to any father…I have a son. And it would be horrible to see one’s son become so obsessed…you worry about their emotional well-being. So let’s put that to one side. At the same time there are serious legal questions around Julian Assange. There are allegations about improper sexual behaviour; and he’s occupied this strange frontier zone between celebrity and slightly unwholesome practices. And the stuff that he was printing and publicizing, you have to accept, has done damage to the west’s military well-being. And at what point do you say, “I believe in free speech” and at what point do you also say, “I’m a member of western society, and I don’t want to be attacked by our enemies.” And that is the difficulty. So I think – although on a human level, sure I feel sorry for the dad – I can’t feel sorry for Julian Assange. I just found the way he disappeared into that embassy rather than facing justice….I mean the father is a very sympathetic figure, much more sympathetic than Julian Assange, but I would try to teach my son to come out, hold your head high and face justice. Yes Quentin, exposing American war crimes and crimes against humanity really is unacceptably damaging "to the west's military well-being". Who knows if we'll ever recover, and once again be free to invade, torture, rob, exploit, and exterminate whole populations at will and with impunity! Welcome to the bottom of the cesspit of western journalism.
