Brooks, yours is the rational reaction, not an over-reaction. I can't remember where I read (I think in an interview with Assange) Julian Assange's account of how he re-connected with his father after a lifetime separation. (Assange was brought up by Christine Assange's other partner, in another part of Australia). He described how astonished he was as a young man to walk through his father's house and to find the same books on the bookshelf that he also valued and to find his father engaging with him along eerily similar thought patterns. They look alike, too.
