It really is incredible. And Madeley is just atrocious. First he quickly intervenes to prevent Shipton from responding to Letts’ mendacious defamations of his son, with: What about these sexual charges that he may well face in Sweden. He may be extradited to face up to those, and those, let’s face it, are one of the reasons that he went into hiding, one of the reasons that he went to the embassy, that he didn’t want to go to Sweden and face the consequences of the allegations made against him. "Let's face it", forsooth! These people really are immune to shame. Then when Assange's father quietly but firmly corrects the record, he again butts in with: John I’m sorry to interrupt, it’s a little difficult to have this conversation at such a distance over satellite but we’d still like to ask you a few more questions. You’ve said that you’re proud of your son…. Which translates as: "John I’m sorry to interrupt, it’s a little difficult to have this conversation when you insist on undermining our fake narrative with facts. Now if you don't mind I'll deflect to personal issues about you." Which he accordingly does. I think the Onion is now officially irrelevant. |
