Poster 123, the controlled scientific experiments reveal innate qualities most of us share. Most people want to do the right thing, and would - in controlled settings - answer or act according to good conscience. But did you not notice my clear and specific meaning and use of the word 'good'? : "to be good is to be true, to be conscious, and to act in accordance to true consciousness."

In other words, the fact that conscience is innate does not guarantee that the majority of people act according to conscience the majority of the time. Consciousness is earned, and character is developed. Reliable habit of acting in conscience even in trying situations is linked to a well-developed consciousness and character. Taken together this is the definition of integrity.

Perhaps I’d have been clearer if I said people are not innately wise. I personally know some people (as I'm sure you do too) who, ostensibly out of compassion for gays in Russia, rally against Putin and cheer on Pussy Riot. Examples of misplaced altruism abound all around us. Basically, our compassionate instinct is often useless and worse when tied to our gullibility and vanity. And, to be clear, when I say people are not innately good, I do not mean they are innately bad either! It's simply a matter of low consciousness. Low consciousness is not low intelligence, as in IQ or brain cells and function. Low consciousness is simply the result of falling slave to our vanity and fear. Gullibility is not simple stupidity, but wishful thinking brought on by the fear of truth. This is what makes so many nice folks little more than pawns in the devil's game.

And I'd have probably been clearer if I said the distraction and division agenda "makes it DIFFICULT for the average person to organize & offer coherent resistance." Nothing is impossible, even for the average person, if will is faithfully and diligently applied. Will, and choices of action are tightly linked to the quality of ones character.

The idea that character flaws are learned through external, material conditions is misleading. True, we are born innocent. But as soon as we begin learning anything - truth or lies - we start the process of losing that innocence. We cannot return to innocence. The only options left to us are to either grow towards self-knowledge and wisdom, or slide towards self-delusion, foolishness and evil.

This is why Rousseau ultimately leads to disaster. We cannot return to innocence. There is no noble savage, and we have permanently left the Garden of Eden. The Saints, in other words, are not found in the Garden of Eden. Saints dwell in the City of God. The former represents infancy and innocence, the latter represents actualized wisdom and character, formed in the fires of deeply lived experience with all its failures and trials . . .

In other words, we cannot blame everything on 'the devil.' The mortal realm is where souls are tried, and it has and will be always so.

When you marry these truths to the Hippocratic oath and the first commandments (1. Love God with your whole mind, your whole soul, and your whole being; 2. Love your neighbour as yourself) . . . you are equipped with the right stuff to reach responsible adulthood and raise the new generation.

Rousseauian romanticism, Nietzchean nihilism, Freudian and Merceausian sexual liberation, Marxian materialism, and postmodern relativism combine to absolutely destroy the very soil, root, limb and branch of solid character! Those most hysterical in their zeal for freedom turn out to be the most perfect tyrants, and the most perfect enemies of beauty and truth.

What's needed more than anything now is reason, strength, courage, intelligence, faith and reason, and acts of justice rooted in these qualities which have their roots in the noble principles.

That, in a nutshell, is why I oppose those 'solutions' most loudly foisted upon us: Rousseauian romanticism, Nietzchean nihilism, Freudian and Merceausian sexual liberation . . . all of which permeate leftist thought.

And Brooks, your childish response does not serve your cause well.
"secret friends of the status quo" You mean Jordan Peterson, eh? My support for him has to do with his resistance to Bill C-16 and similar legislation, but on that front he's not the only game in town. I consider his psychological analysis of modern left/liberal trends to be powerful components to that resistance, but I have conceded repeatedly that he talks too much in one direction while remaining silent about the real social engineers, the climate that enables them to operate, and the history of the development of that climate, and how it all links to the war and globalism project. This, coupled with his media stardom and money-hungry ways . . . But you don't hear me. All you can fixate on is my agreement with his most obvious and true statements. Strange. Are you one of those lefties swayed by the reactionary mob who push smear-by-association memes?

fact-based political analysis Talk about contradiction of terms! Political parties, wings, and philosophies ALL use "fact-based" analysis. Facts, of course are selected and focussed on, other factors are ignored or misrepresented, so that the chosen facts can be interpreted to best serve the given political agenda. Or do you think YOU belong to the only correct politics?

meaningful social engagement for justice and towards personal goals of self-realization. Well, Mr. Brooks, I like to think I do engage meaningfully for justice, reason and truth. As for self-realization (uh, I prefer the terms self-knowledge and personal development), well that's all I ever bang on about.

"First they came for the socialists, but I did not speak out because I despise socialists..."
No, Brooks, they are coming after everyone and anyone who thinks and acts independently, and the state is actually using the socialist-minded radicals to push radical policies and legislation to make it easier for the state to control thought, speech, and incarcerate ANYBODY on trumped up charges! The reason I engage with people like you is not because I despise you! It is because I think you are misguided and you are working against your own, and everybody's, interests.

"and being a politically quiescent, white, conservative, church-going, heterosexual male, they never did come for me, so it's all worked out just fine."
Well thank YOU very much, Mr. Brooks, but I'm the furthest thing possible from "politically quiescent." Perhaps because I am not LOUDLY in agreement with your politics, you mistake this for quietism? As for white, conservative, church-going, heterosexual, male . . . good GOD are you really so heavily indoctrinated? Is that all you've got on me? Sheesh! Have you been hanging around too much with that Ribbon Head crowd?

C'mon, man, try to be reasonable and listen to what I'm actually saying without kneejerk reaction.
Even if we never agree, we can at least try harder to understand one another.

    Be well.
