apolitical, ecologically well-documented Gaian processes that have always resolved population-overshoot episodes in any species of the planet's life-web (hom sap being very clearly not exempt from this rule) is scarcely the same as embracing eugenicist attitudes - which I don't like at all, actually, they being intellectually, morally, humanely - and practically - incompetent as they are. Facing up soberly to harsh realities is absolutely not the same as being an enthusiast for some elitist bullshit doctrine. PS: That 'asteroid mining' explanation needs to take account of where the vast splurge of energy to do it is going to come from; and will it all be done by robots under AI control (good luck with that!) seeing as the intractable problem of the extreme vulnerability of living tissue to the super-hard radiation/micrometeorite environment of deep space has absolutely not been solved at all? (Apollo 11: men on the Moon? Really? REALLY? How was that riddle solved for them?). So - no humans out there overseeing the vast material-processing - and controlled, soft-landing transportation back to Earth - demands of 'asteroid mining'. Colossal energy needs there, to negotiate the gravity well under careful control at all times... BTW, my request is for real-world, physics-conforming explanations, not substanceless startrekky fantasies... How exactly will we organise it?   Cheers bro!
