The British public were pumped repeatedly with headlines telling how the immigrants were coming to steal their jobs but you claim shit like this had no effect? The official Brexit campaign disagreed and put money on the idea that it would: ...and surprise surprise! over half of Brexit voters consequently said immigration was one of their biggest issues. But of course none of this matters because the Brexit Brigade are adherents to Post-truth politics: "Post-truth politics (also called post-factual politics and post-reality politics) is a political culture in which debate is framed largely by appeals to emotion disconnected from the details of policy, and by the repeated assertion of talking points to which factual rebuttals are ignored. Post-truth differs from traditional contesting and falsifying of facts by relegating facts and expert opinions to be of secondary importance relative to appeal to emotion." -Which is why Derek ends up proposing that his personal anecdotal experience trumps the data because of some fantasy he came up with that as middle class people did it it must be falsified...or yourself above claiming the absurdity that media propaganda is of no importance on a site which is dedicated to the critical matter of its importance, because of course that can be overridden by mere wishfully thinking: no doubt sincerely... that the stout yeomen of Englandshire wouldn't fall for it. -Unfortunately though, they did.
