We do not recognise the state, nor its influence over us.
I don't think you speak for the poor at all on this. Most people, especially the poor, would like an institution like the NHS -- run by the state. They would like a police force -- run by the state; public education -- run by the state. I could go on.
We then have the choice to readmit all the things we need as run by the people and to benefit the same. It would take organisation, ..
So, you realize you do need some form of organization. You could call this government. There's also a great danger that dismantling a system brings a far worse system. Look at Russia in the 1990s.
A government without leaders ....
