One of the worst and ongoing genocides was somehow (hah!) missed by wikipedia: the US-backed genocide in Congo (1996-today) which has killed up to 10 million Congolese and in which US client, Rwandan dictator Paul Kagame, is a critical player. Meanwhile the Rwandan genocide, also the responsibility by US client Paul Kagame, is whitewashed. But to the current subject, whether there was anything mildly reprehensible in Roger Hallam's comment or not - to me there isn't - it pales into insignificance beside XR's disgraceful ideological support for the US-backed/engineered Bolivian coup. The former reflects an academic historical judgement that affects nobody, the latter is malign propaganda for an ongoing imperial crime which could have - and is already having - a huge and disastrous human impact.
