Dmitry Orlov's vignettes from Russia, where he now lives with his Russian wife and children, make it Archived Message

quite clear that these spiritual castration problems of the West haven't penetrated into the Russian soul. They really don't seem to have any difficulty with acknowledging the masculine/feminine spectrum, and finding their individual places on that spectrum calmly and confidently.

Dmitry was highly revealing on the acute differences in male reactions to assaults on women by men from the big flood of migrants coming from the Middle East a few years back. In Germany, male reaction was weakly conflicted. In Russia it was the same instantly-confident Iron John spirit that empowered the Russians to do the bulk of the heavy lifting in the destruction of the Third Reich.

Seems to me that the emasculation of men that's happened patchily in the West is strictly a Western thing. Doesn't operate noticeably in Russia. Came to Britain after my generation (b. 1940) grew up, so my age group weren't so much affected by it. Our dads, uncles and older cousins set us on the right path. Lot of psycho-spiritual problems associated with this syndrome amongst the younger ones who grew up since then, though.
