Cooke initially makes an argument for abstention as they're not going to let us win as they control the media. Implying parliamentary democracy is a nonsense But he then talks about how the neoliberals will try to take over the party so we fight to stop that. But what good is the Party if you can't win the election with it. And he's just shown us why you can't. And, incidentally, if we can't win an election with the Party why the heck would the Blairites waste their time trying to take over the Party, anyway? It's a worthless instrument. All they need is control of the media. And they already have that. So, sod the fight for the soul of Labour. Just abstain. However, he doesn't go into the consequences of abstaining or discuss the alternatives to the polling booth. Abstaining on it's own achieves absolutely nothing.
