Not sure why since I am definitely not Efremov : ). Mine is just a 'real life' nickname coined by my better half i.e. unconnected historically to, well, anyone.
Fwiw there a problem with transliteration. For example, Tomsky = Tomski = Tomskii (То́мский , the last being 'more' correct as a latinised version ... if you read it in Russian it jumps out.
