orthodoxy that governs Western - that's to say the dominant - scientific thinking. Richard seems to have a visceral detestation of all things that smack of philosophical-idealism. Too bad for him, since any gambler would give you good odds that philosophical-materialism is now getting scheduled for a re-eclipsing period, as the up-coming generation of scientists look towards philosophical-idealism ideas to resolve the current stack of anomalies that are ripe for a paradigm-shifting re-think, to integrate them into an improved, more all-inclusive world-view. As ever, beware of the currently-dominant world-religion of scientism, masquerading as the true scientific method. Richard, I suspect, is a rather fanatical follower of that religion.
