I have a distinct memory going back a decade or two: a woman who had converted to Judaism from Catholicism found that a prominent Jewish school wouldn't admit her son -- as, absent some additional kind of floaty nitwittery, she still wasn't Jewish enough.
(I'm afraid people who are interested in the ins and outs of this story will need to look it up for themselves: I really can't stand hateful racist loony religious bullshit of this order. It's as arbitrary and as idiotic as the definition of 'what makes a true Cockney'...)
