"Jackie and I were both talking generally." No...Jackie was talking of a specific murder and the relevance of "past domestic violence" and something she termed "toxic masculinity". Brooks pointed out that there was so far no reportage of such a background. I pointed out that the last time the notion of "toxic masculinity" was mentioned to explain the action of a mass murderer was the seriously flawed Gary Younge article where he tries to promote the theory using examples that were inappropriate because the three main perpetrators he highlights were all suffering from Aspergers. The problem with Younge's proposal (and yours) was twofold. Firstly, Aspergers is reckoned to have a neurological base, not a societal one. Secondly, Asperger individuals are often peripheral or excluded from society therefore can't be used to exemplify traits the "theory" considers a toxic part of that society. - so very far from being the "non point"you claim. "Now here's what you can get - lost One strike, you're out. Your new limit is zero" Walter...you're mistaking me for someone who cares if you read what I say: I really don't: but I do think its a bad idea to leave poor thinking unchallenged on a public forum.
