I'd also add that, apart from the political dimension, I'm sceptical of gm foods because we don't really know (I include scientists in here) what this meddling with nature brings, especially long term. The same is true with much meddling in the human body, including vaccines. Why do so many people have allergies, suffer from autism, get cancer? Much has to do with our immune system, something that is very directly meddled with with vaccines. (eg American children get 72 vaccines.) Pollution also plays some major role no doubt. The human body is not a computer or robot built by humans and which we know how it is programmed. Biological knowledge is at best temporarily `correct' until proven wrong later. By that I mean it's temporarily accepted to be correct. The trouble is there is always so much at stake (money/reputation) for a particular theory to be accepted.
