Just saw this spook on the BiBiC News at 6 yapping on about this "Israeli Operation".
He said the Israelis had planted explosives in a mobile phone years back and this is what motivated Hezbollah to ditch mobiles and use pagers instead.
He could barely hide his admiration for the zionazis as he said "That didn't work out too well for them".

Remember the palestinian flag planted on the west bank that the settler got out his car and marched over to and pulled up and it exploded? This seems to be the same concept but on steroids.

The OPSEC for this pager business is really salutary: A complex operation of design, probably offshored manufacture, distribution, probably discussion at more than one cabinet meeting, and then waiting until the eve of war, and just one tiny hint of a leak at any point during that process could have killed the whole operation. Its a really salutary lesson in where Israeli strengths seem to be: Somewhat in technology, but it seems much more in OPSEC. The ramifications are quite significant in terms of probable ongoing operations. Given Israeli access to US technologies this could be the literal tip of the iceberg and nobody would know whether it is or not.

Is it true, or just a rumor, I wonder, that the American University hospital in Beirut took all pagers off its nurses & doctors around 10 days ago and ‘replaced them due to technical issues’ (According to employees).

Did they distribute/ sell thousands of cheap subsidised explosive pagers just in the hope that they would end up in the hands/ pockets of Hezbollah people...and then just explode the lot irrespective of who had the device?

It's hard to see otherewise how 3,000 would be wounded by this event. Is so It's just base terrorism, but that's Israel all through.

What I haven't seen addressed in any of the reports so far is that this must be a war crime/illegal under international law (I know, I know...no such thing really).
I mean, even if they can get away with saying it was Hezbollah they were targeting (for security reasons, say), what about all the potential carnage that might have ensued from the detonations?
Guys driving and losing control in a heavily populated area, ploughing into kids...that kind of thing?
Just no telling the damage these thousands of detonations could have caused.

According to this silly man, Paul Adams, the BBC's diplomatic correspondent in Jerusalem, the pager attack on Hezbollah's people will "devastate Hezbollah's moral and manpower". It may indeed do that, but it will also make them very, very angry, and murderous.

He ends though "There are no signs yet of the sort of build up of men and armour that would be needed for a major military incursion, but today’s attacks represent yet another dangerous escalation. It is hard to see how Hezbollah won’t feel compelled to respond in some way."

Indeed it is hard to see anything else but more violence and death and misery, a cold, cynical, clever and corrupt scheme to ensure no peace ensues in Israel or its environs in the Middle East. For every Hezbollah operative injured or killed, like a hydra, two or three more will be born from the spilt blood. What it's actually harder than ever to see is Israel's ultimate survival.

I doubt that this attack is as significant as British state propagandists want to believe as they squeal with excitement. Military operations work best when combined and concentrated in time and space. It would have done Ooh-aah Hezbollah much more damage if combined with ground and air operations. It's a blow to the free world (no doubt about that) yet it shows the limits of the zionist occupiers that it was dome in isolation.

I think the reaction will be very severe, its indiscriminate nastiness, basically its terrorism, is going to cause a lot of anger in Arab nations, and what'll make it worse is the US and the West downplaying or even seeming to gloat with the result. But who knows, as Mercouris is apt to say, we'll just have to wait and see.
