Charlie from Palmetto Place makes a nice 150g grip sinker. I haven't had a chance to try them out in really testing conditions, but I'm confident they are good for most occasions.
I use plain torpedos if the conditions are settled and I want a long cast - theorise all you like gentlemen, but I don't have a problem with missed strikes. Not getting enough bites is my problem - same as most people?
For shorter casts beaches, I use ball sinkers. You might not think so, but balls sucker in and hold well. I have 8 ounce balls and the rods to cast them. These carry bait into a severe head wind.
