Hi Job, I could not agree more, but I don't think our opinion will have much effect on the importers policy. The owner of the vehicle is the real victim here, he should have the right to choose who he shares his security codes with, and who is able to work on his car. I wonder how often a salesman informs a prospective customer that he/she will have to subject his/her new car to their in house maintance and repair regime while more able techs are denied the basic info to provide a better service at a keener price. Why is it that so many manufactures are going online for coding etc? Maybe it has something to do with the amount of TIS disks on e-bay etc. It is a shame that a few greedy people chase a small, short term profit to the detriment of the trade in general. Alan.
