My dad and I have always gone to two car races per year since I got out of high school. Since 1994 it has been easy - the Brickyard 400 and the Indy 500. But, we have decided to not go to the 400 any more because it has just gotten sooooo boring (if you think it is bad on TV, it is way worse in person). So, I was just asking because I figured that you had been there and you would know. I figured Detroit would be an easy trip up and back from Indianapolis. Are the tickets for both races or are they sold separately? I have a friend that's an IndyCar flagman (he coached Patrick Dempsey when to wave for this year's Indy 500 - he was onscreen with him on the broadcast) and he recommends Milwaukee or Iowa for IndyCars. The second race probably won't happen this year simply because my summers are getting shorter (we start school again on August 4th) and the family is taking a two week vacation this summer so the chance of having an available weekend on a track that is fairly close is pretty slim. |
