I have experience in this regard. For my family it was simple. That was because we had in place a good Mexican will. The will delineated how my mom's local Mexican property was to be inherited and by whom. There were no surprise as all discussed it family. It was as easy to deal with the home in La Manzanilla as property in the USA.

My advice is find a Mexican local real estate and/or legal expert who can help you write a valid Mexican will. A will in the USA is of no use with Mexico. Keep copies of the will both NOB if that applies and in Mexico.

Having your wishes known ahead to time makes death easier for those left behind. Some of us here are now are second generation gringo La Manzanillans.
