The centre shaft is from an extension window washing pole, this means the rod can be better supported in big seas. In the top of the centre shaft I keep a tooth brush on a string. This is primarily to remove sand from the channels on a BOS but it has a dozen other uses. The majority of the material is scrap aluminium and the only tools required are a hacksaw, file or good sand paper and a pop rivet gun.
The basic idea can be changed in any way to suit the individual.
