Your post is appreciated and noted. I accept there are issues but let me make comment on some of yours.
Firstly your point regarding the Golf Club. I am heavily involved in Rugby Refereeing. There is unity and we have a relatively solid group of happy campers so to speak. The difference between these two groups and the NZACA is the NZACA has a variety of groups under its wing and we need to be seen looking after them all.
Secondly, I still say, you do not have any right to criticise it. You have no idea what is actually done and achieved by them in "Your" interest. By your, I mean as a fisherman. That's fact, it is clear to me by your comments.
Thirdly, re the fishermen on the beach along Marine Parade to Awatoto, Napier. I am well aware of how many there are and I know how many use each and every sports shop in the local region. Mate I am doing my homework. I would like to have them all in the Pania Surfcasting Club. As a group there we now have 100 members.
Back to the NZACA. I am, personally, asking you to get your head around the thought we are not aware of what needs doing and are doing nothing. Far from the truth. I would be pretty fair in assuming you have not been an active Member of a club for about ten years and never been a Member of the Parent body. I am no different than anyone who posts on here, no different. I know all the issues everyone is raising, I am no elitist, jeez I struggle to catch a fish, I just love doing it. What I saw and heard is exactly what I am hearing today so I decided that there is only one way to see if the perception is true. It's not!! There is a fantastic group of dedicated Men and Women working hard. We are well aware of all the issues raised and what needs to be achieved. Bud, to be honest there is no way we will attract all surfcasting buffs but we are in our own way raising the awareness of it and today alone I watched two people purchase Surfcasting sets. That is what it's about. Those Guys and Girls will be part of our kahawai Comp 2014. As much as I want them in the NZACA I am just happy they are out there and while they are, we will do everything we can to protect their right to do so. I think you know I will stand shoulder to shoulder with you on what is your right and in times of turmoil, I am just asking you to stop bagging something you have no indepth knowledge about and be honest you don't.
Watch out for all those Pania fishermen this weekend it is mates weekend so there will be a few on the beaches near and far.
