The Long and Short finned Eel fishing Regulations
Access to the 5d Paua Fishery
The use of UBA in the Shellfish fishery and
The Rec harvest Regulations for the Maketu Taiapari.
We were represented by our President, who left our Dinner in Rotorua to drive to Napier to discuss the state of the fishery in Hawkes Bay with some of the most powerful members of the fishing Industry and the MPI.
We have taken time to sit and talk with other fishing entities ie. the Sports Fishing Council, to align ourselves with other Associations to further increase the power of our voice.
The other point is the fact that we do this along with some of the most powerful entities in this drive to protect the fishery. Also our voice, as a group, is recognised by the highest Courts in this country. We have done this and so, so much more while some continue to point the finger.
Mate,as a representitive group of the fisher we are more than doing our job. All but our Secetary are volunteers but we are working bloody hard for each and everyone who wants the right to go and catch a fish. Some have given hours and hours of their time for the cause.
As for your other comments. Thirty eight years ago, really. Your last comment validates my point, sorry Bud, but you have no idea what we are now involved in and are doing. The changes in the last two years, since our forum in Rotorua, attended by all but six of the member clubs have been huge, sorry you cant or dont want to see that.
