I was originally considering a daiwa cross cast but was talked into getting the shimano then when I was going actually buy a cross cast I saw a brand new penn 850 for $90 on TM so grabbed it and I do not regret buying the penn at all as I am not biased on how heavy a reel is and if i were to buy a third reel it would be another penn reel as they are the easiest I have come across for self servicing. will be giving the shimano another run tomorrow at whiritoa as I am taking two rods to see if it does it again and if it does it will get dropped off to fish city on saturday to get it sorted out.
